My first race was at Lydden Hill Circuit, Nr Dover Kent on 27/28th March 2016. I rented a car from Peter Gwynne Motorsport and competed against 15 other competitors. It was my first ever competitive race meeting. I had never been on the grid for a race, never sat there waiting for the lights and never competed against other drivers! I finished 9th overall on the day and got my lap times down from 1 min 19 s in Race 1 to 53.590 s in SF 1. I was over the moon with my performance.
Having only competed so far at Lydden Hill and Croft, I prefer Lydden Hill.
Having competed now in three meetings this past season, two at Lydden Hill and one at Croft I am over the moon with my improvements. I have gained more confidence in my start procedures and have learnt the importance of keeping the speed through the slower parts of each circuit. I am conscious of learning as much as I can from fellow competitors and look for any opportunity to put what I have learnt into practice.
Being a patriotic Scot and a proud Hebridean I would be pleased to make contact with any company that share my demographic, but I am also a great supporter of my local community and feel that any local company to East Kent can gain so much from my input and promotion of their goods and services. I have just completed my first event of the season and fortunately a place in the Final was gained, a season long goal achieved at the first event!
